Uses and Impacts of Modern Technology on the Royal Jordanian Geographic Center Performance

Abstract

The main question that this study tries to answer is: To what extent modern technologies are being used by the Royal Jordanian Geographic Centre (RJGC), and how it affects the performance of its employees.

A questioner with has been distributed to 137 (RJGC) employees in four different departments, namely: Map Production, GIS, Human Recourses, and Efficiency Performance Department.

Simple and Multi Regression analysis, ANOVA have been employed. No significant differences in the performance of the (RJGC) employees due to their social, demographic, and educational characteristics i.e (sex, age, level of education, and experience). However, positive impacts have been detected on the performance of the employees due to the level of their utilization of modern technologies.

The study recommends that the (RJGC) employees should be continuously trained to use modern technologies. Shared training programmes with other specialized organizations also required to upgrade the (RJGC) employees. A follow up programmes are also needed to elevate the employees' skills.
