Yarmouk University Students’ Uses of You Tube And Its Attained Gratification

Abstract
Video- Sharing sites are considered the most inpentent type of websites in the growing field of social networks. You Tube is also recognized the most important video – sharing websits in terms of Popularity. Depending on sharing huge number of users’ videos, it plays a major role in highlghiting recent events comparing with other mass media.
However, the study aimed at identifying the Uses of Yarmouk University students of
the You Tube and its Gratification attained. Using the survey study on the sample of (300) students of the Yarmouk university, the study revealed that %88 of the sample used You Tube for the purposes of entertaining, increasing knowledge, and creating awareness of the recent local and international events, and getting Access to exceptive videos.
The study also concluded that “environement control” came first comparing with other gratifacations with a mean of 3.9 and 3.9 respectively. The gratification of social interaction came after with a mean of 3.2.
