The Islamic View Towards the Ecological Balance in the

Hydrological Environment

Abstract

During the history of mankind there was a kind of equilibrium between man and his natural environment. The 20th century which was characterized by the scientific and technological revelution accompanied by a high population growth, caused a great damage for that equilibrium. The result was double folded. There was a continuous decrease in the natural resources, beside a great damage to those resources by pollution. Countries all over the world set laws and regulations in their constitutions to preserve natural resources and avoid great damages caused by pollution. Islam as a universal religion has its own laws and ethics to preserve natural resources. This paper deals with the Islamic rules, regulations and policy towards the hydrological environment compared with the international laws of the environment.
