With Sharif Hussein Bin Ali from the Great Arab Revolt to Exile: A Reading in the Memoirs of Officer Jamil Al- Rawi (1891-1950)

Abstract

Diaries books considered as one of an important sources which dealing the history of Arab Revolution in term of political and militarily aspects, this study came to focus on the most crucial events and people who Contemporary the Arab Revolution , The iraqian soldiers who play a big role in the formation the core of Arab Revolution which was headed by Sheriff Hussein Bin Ali, the army at that time was consist of volunteers and Arab tribes in Jordan and Al-Hejaz

The aim of the study is to focus at the biography one of iraqian soldiers, JAMIL AL-RAWI who was Reconnaissance office in the Arab revolution army, Appointed in positions until became a military governor in Al-Madina -Hejaz, in addition he Was very closed to the sheriff family and he chose the Displacement to Cyprus with Sheriff rather to abdicate Palestine.

The philosophy of this study is to analyse the biography based on the existing historical approach in order to extract the historical event clearly, on other side the researcher tried to enclose all diaries concerning the Arab Revolution in spite of rareness of writing diaries this time ago. More over the researcher studied deeply the facts mentioned in Jamil Al-rawi diary to correct the names, dates or any additional information which can help us to fulfill the events mentioned in Jamil Al-rawi diary.

Finally the researcher concluded the results which can summarize as the following: formation the Arab Revolution army of volunteers from Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Libya, and Yemen. The lustrous role of Iraqian soldiers in forming the core of Arab revolution army. The military activities were upon Arab army whereas the role of Allied army was only logistic aspects (weapon equipments & Catering). How Sheriff waive the throne as a result of British behavior ,who tried a lot to force Sheriff to abandon Palestine and signed the British Hejaz Treaty, and at last deportation Sheriff Hejaz to Cyprus to let them implementing their plans at Arab region.
