Narrative Techniques and Dimensions of Autobiography: “Al-Tayyib Saleh as a Model” Theoretical and Applied Study

Abstract
This study deals with narrative techniques and dimensions that characterize the autobiography of AL-Tayyib Saleh. Techniques used include analepsis, prolepsis, summarization, and ellipsis. Functional dimensions are embodied time, place, language and address. These techniques and functional dimensions are critical in studying a narrative text, and have become a significant need for every critical narrative research.
The researcher has followed inductive-based methodology research in clarifying these techniques in different narrative works of by Al-Tayyib Saleh. These techniques shaped artistic starts in the content of his autobiographical narratives, as well as created artistic axes that tempt the reader for tracking and tracing the techniques and functions of many other narrative texts. Perhaps it is appropriate to talk about the artistic structure of the title of this study, which consists of: Narration as independent subject versus the Autobiography and its artistic dimensions that tempt researchers to investigate them through artistic approximation to the distinguished relationship that connects the narrative techniques with the artistic functions of the autobiography; an overlapping relationship that enriches the text and distinguishes it from other literary texts, which is our aim of this study.
The subject of this study is a combined subject; it deals with the autobiography in connection with narrative arts. On the other hand, there is a formative structure that combines between Theory and Practice; namely, the autobiographer and his artistic narrative style, and narration as a methodology and basic method in clarifying and revealing the artistic aspects of the autobiographer, besides the autobiography and its relationship with the aforementioned factors, all of which shaped the title of this study: Narrative Techniques and Dimensions of Autobiography “Al-Tayyib Saleh as a Model”.
