Abstract

This study deals with the eloquence of the fourfold indicators being dually-compounded and having phonetic dimension in the poetic experience of Al-Sayyab, which is believed to form a clear phenomenon in the linguistic use. The study deals with this phenomenon in terms of two dimensions: the meaning dimension and the indication one. The study attempts to discover the rhetorical mechanisms on which that experience depended to make these indicators produce meanings in the deep level. The study has found that Al-Sayyab`s experience invested a number of meanings which were produced by the means of those fourfold indicators. Such meanings were: Fading and Subsidence, Altitude, Phonetic Succession, Origination and Multitude. The fourfold indicators produced by the means of those meanings a number of contextual indications, such as Hiddeness, Exploration, Spreading, Movement, Feeling and Origination. Some rhetorical mechanisms were used by Al-Sayyab to produce those indications. Such mechanisms are as follows: the Metaphor (both the personalizing and the materializing ones), the Transmitted Figurative Expression (the personalizing figurative expression), the Indirect Expression, the Senses Exchange and the Linguistic Implication.
