Abstract
This research aims to study some social aspects such as marriage, divorce, inheritance, and economic activities such as buying and selling in Ma’an in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century through Sharea court records, which cover the period (1316-1326H./1898-1908AC.). Moreover, this study highlights some of the disputes and conflicts that arose among a limited segment of the population, such as inheritance lawsuits, and disputes of the expropriation of some land or livestock. On the other hand, this research seeks to clarify the part of the economic life of Ma’an such as usury practiced by some merchants.
