The Intersection of Narration with Poetry in Mahmoud Darwish’s Poetry

Abstract

This research aims to study the phenomenon of the intersection of narration with poetry in some pomes by Mahmoud Darwish to highlight the nature of narration and the structural and symbolic objectives in Darwish’s poetry. This study has examined the overlapping genres, the concept of narration and its elements, the significance and functions of narration in Darwish’s poetry. This paper has concluded that narration has an important role in the poem’s formation, growth, and structure as narration is an active element in the form and meaning of the poem. Moreover, narration has been seen as a communicative, emotive technique, pushing the reader to continue reading and interacting with the text.
