Khalfallah Benali, University Center, Tissemsilt, Algeria.

Abstract

The pragmatics is now the subject of several studies. Its applications are now numerous and diverse in almost all humanities such as sociology, psychology, communication science, literary criticism, rhetoric, semiotics, discourse and linguistic analysis... etc.

Research in pragmatics has attracted the attention of many researchers in various fields. Pragmatics is open to various fields of study such as Sociology, Pyschology, Communication Studies, Literary Criticism, Semiotics, Discourse Anyalysis, and Linguistics. Moreover, Pragmatics invaded the field of linguistics research, including those of linguistic communication because it gives more importance to the receiver than to contextual conditions and the sender himself/herself. The appearance of Pragmatics coincided with semiotic research done by Perce who listed it in the branches of Semiotics.

The researcher notes that Pragmatics is independent and inaccessible in the field of literary studies. What is strange here is that this theory is concerned with the symbolic, imaginary, and metaphoric aspects of speech as well as sound, rhythm, and intonation aspects.
