Multilingualism in the Arabic Novel (Issues and Models)

Abstract

Language is considered an integral component in any novel. Some critics see the novel to be the thought, imagination, and even life itself. The ability to master this genre and to make it diverse is considered to be a major feature of a good text. Many novelists and critics emphasize the importance of linguistic diversity in the structure of novels.  

This article tackles the linguistic diversity in the Arabic novel in terms of theory and application. This study views the issues of linguistic diversity from the perspective of both Arab and Western critics, and it studies a number of Arabic novels where linguistic diversity has been employed.
