The Treaty between Sultan Al-Ashraf and King James II of Aragon in 1292AD/ 692 AH "A Documentary and Analytical Study"

Abstract
The present study discusses thereaty between the Mamluk sultanAl-Ashraf and King James II of Aragon and his allies in 1292/ AH 69.This study also sheds light on the political situations of the Mamluk sultanate and the Christian Mamluks (Aragon, Kingdom of Castile and Portugal). It also shows how the political situations led to this treaty. The study shows the general framework of the treaty by displaying and discussing its aspects and categorizing its articles from different perspectives such as borders, security and military and from economical, diplomatic, and religious aspects. This study also draws a link between the articles of treaty and the political and commercial situations of that period.
