Abstract

This study uses the semiotic approach which traces the signs related to self desires and points out what they refer to and the relationships between these signs. It is important to point out that Semiotics is an old approach, but a recent one in its analytic use. It investigates all the connected references that express a certain meaning. In addition, the study tackles self desires in Quran which are divided into unfaithful mental desires such as those  of kufr , shirk, hypocrisy, conspiracy, rush, doubt; and those self-impulsive desires that confront normal self impulses and turn them aside such as pride, envy, vanity, and anger. The study ends up with self impulsive desires or behavioristic desires such as homosexuality, lust, and financial tyranny.
