Abstract

The study aims to diagnose the reality of Turkey's International relations since 2002 and until the end of 2010 under the guidance of the authority of "Justice and Development party", based on the discussion of the basic limitations governing Turkey's international policy represented by each of the selected strategic and economic determinatives. The study also shows the nature of the keenness of the executive authority in the development of Turkish interests and its ability to launch a new phase in dealing with political international units influential in the aspirations of the Turkish state in the future, having been absent for Turkey to play the regional central role since its inception as a modern state in 1923.

The study is based on the hypothesis: that there is a correlation between the key determinants that Turkish international relations are based on and the international political movement that pursued by Turkey under the authority of the Justice and Development Party, which took power in 2002. To illustrate such facts the regional and functional approaches were used.

Finally, the study reached several conclusions, notably, the presence of Turkey's new international efforts reflect the trends to show Turkey's pivotal regional role due to its possession of various elements , and the ability to interact with the East neighboring countries based on features in common with the Arab world and the need to meet the requirements of the concept of "interdependence in international relations, and that Turkey would not abandon its efforts to join the European Union, and in maintaining the usual relations with the Western camp, because the end is in the development of interests and to maintain the balance with all international political units and not to engage in the case of direct conflict.
