The Countryside of Jerusalem and Its Governers during the 17th Century

Abstract

This study is an attempt to under stand the general circumstances of the countryside in Jerusalem rural areas at a specific era of the Ottoman empire history. It sheds the light on the kind of relationship between the peasants and the administrative system in Jerusalem. the study also describes the security status in the countryside areas during that era. In addition, the study presents, an important sector of the rural areas inhabitants, the Bedouins, who are peculiar in their style of living and economic activities. The study takes they have taken into account their important effect on the incidents that took place during that time.
