Tourism attractiveness of Irbid governorate tourism activities point of view

This study entitled aimed at highlighting the tourism dimension in the governorate and analyzing its attractiveness to investors in an attempt to maximize the tourism benefits sought. The survey covers all the 61 classified tourism activities in the governorate. Only 50 were willing to participate, out of these questionnaire was rejected.

As a male research tool, the questionnaire had 40 closed- ended statements on the 5-points likert scale covering the different aspects of the tourism attractiveness of a Irbid. Another to open-ended questions dealt with the main challenges facing tourism activities and recommendations to overcome them.

The study concluded that the tourism activities negatively evaluate the tourism attractiveness of the governorate. No relation was found between the availability of tourism dimensions and the investment attractiveness of the governorate. The study recommends that necessity of establishing constructive cooperation between all parties concerned i.e. the minister of tourism and antiquity, Jordan tourism board, tourism association, etc. to up level the role tourism place in Irbid. It also recommended adopting a decentralized system in tourism planning, development, and marketing, as well as enhancing the role played by the tourism directorates at the governorate level.
