Restructuring Policies and its Impact on political Development in Arab Countries- Case Study: Egypt, Yemen, Algeria, Morocco in the Period 1989 -2003

Abstract
This study aims at clarifying the relationship between restructuring policies and political development in Egypt, Yemen, Algeria and Morocco in the period 1989 – 2003. It also aims at evaluating these policies from an economic, political and social viewpoints, focusing on impact on political development, especially regarding democracy indicators, political stability and political participation. The study has reached the followwing conclusiond :
1- Restucuring policies has a negative effect on democrecy indicators through its impacy on human rights politically, socially and economically .
2- Restructuring policies has a negative effect on political participation in these countries, as the number of voters has decreasedwhil the nunber of poor has increased there by lowering the number of middle class candidates and restricting election candidates to upper classpeople .
3- Resttucturing policies has had a negative effect on political stability in these countries through the increase of oficial and popular violence, protests, and frequent governmant changes .
