Jordanian Daily Newspapers Layout (1946-1967) "Analytical study"

Abstract
The study aims to highlights the technical developments of daily newspapers since independence of Jordan till 1967. This includes the study of the impact of the social, political, and cultural events associated with such development during the studied period. The impact of government press-relations on the development of daily press will be outlined.
The study is a descriptive one and the historical methodology is used to understand the status of the studied newspapers, survey method is also used to tackle this issue.
The research applied "form analysis" to study the method used to introduce contents to readers. "Philistine" newspaper is selected to represent the print media in the post-independence era.
The study concludes that the layout of "Philistine" newspaper is distinguished by its non-permanent basic design and the non-fixed of the nameplate, ears, date line, the shape of body type and its size. But in the same time, it maintained an independent personality from its uses of teasers, banner headlines and photos.
