Abstract
This research aims at analyzing the inflectional sign i.e. the ending vowel pertaining to its effect on the components of discourse. This comes to be explicit in the process of making the text coherent. Accordingly, ending vowels are more than just making the sentence coherent.
The research starts by discussing the concepts of discourse analysis and cohesion. Then it discusses the semantic scope of ending vowels through the text and the nature of interaction between ending vowels and some pragmalinguistic components.
The research concludes that ending vowels have a great effect on the unity and cohesion of the text.
