Abstract
Many writers have addressed the issue of immigration in France, each with his/her own style, his/her opinion and his/her own perspective on things.
Writers, having lived themselves their own problems and suffering of migrants in their community that is part of the French society, have talked about the theme of an insider’s point of view, to describe what they experienced in autobiographical works. Other writers have treated the subject from an outsider’s perspective in order to find solutions to this situation. Among the latter we have the French writer of Lebanese descent and born in Egypt: Andrée Chedid.
This article represents an analytical study of the novel entitled: “ L’Autre” (The Other) of Andrée Chedid, in which we will analyze how the author has treated the theme of immigration in France, and which figure of style she adopted.
