The Dialogic learning methodology of Paulo Freire and its applications in Augusto Boal's Theatre "Theatre of the Oppressed"

Abstract

This study aims to acknowledge the dialogic learning methodology of Paulo Freire and its applications in Augusto Boal's theatre "Theatre of the Oppressed". It also acknowledges the nature of the theatrical patterns that Augusto Boal worked on. From here, we start our research by identifying the way dialogic learning methodology in theatre was applied by Boal. This study may give benefit to theatrical workers and researchers and all who work in educational fields through establishing an educational style which uses the theatre on education. The research also gives benefit to academic institution that may use dialogic learning methodology which can be helpful in demonstrating the intellectual and aesthetic implications for the Theatre of the Oppressed.
