Yehudit Hendel – Her Life، Literary Works With a Translation of the Story "A Story with No Address"

Abstract
Yehudit Hendel is one of the most prominent writers in the Israeli contemporary literature. Her literary works distinguished by some aspects that distinguished her from the rest of her contemporary writers، in terms of her choice of subjects in her literary output، and her linguistic style.
This study sheds light on Hendel's literary career، which lasts almost seventy years. It starts with reviewing Hendel's biography، and then it moves to review her literary works. It also includes a translation of one of Hendel's famous short stories entitled "A Story with No Address".
Most of Hendel's Literary works deal with themes of death، dying and traumatic loss of family members and loved ones in the battlefields and other calamities. Unlike her fellow Israeli Fiction writers she focuses on the aftermath of wars on parents who lost their sons in these wars، instead of focusing on the description of the heroes of the wars.، She deals with the of the presence of the dead person in the life of those who lost him، and his influence on their behavior and the way he confuses their life is one of the most recurrence themes in Hendel's works. She also exposes the world of the new immigrants and the difficulties that they encountered in the new society.
