The Concept of Patriotism in the Poetry of "Naseem Shomal"

Abstract
This study addresses the concept of Patriotism and the patriotic feelings in the poetic collections of the Iranian poet , Sayid Ashraf AL-Deen Gilani, who is called " Naseem Shomal ". He is considered as one of the most important pioneers in the historical period represented by the constitution age. That concept appears in his collection in a well organized aesthetic unit reflecting ideological visions and expressing his attitudes to wards the socio-political circumstances which Iranian people lived during that period. In his collection, he called for freedom, social justices, and true devotion to country. He also, criticized several aspects of corruption which were prevalent in his time. He arranged his collection in a way that he made it like a mirror, reflecting the aesthetic value of the literature of his period. His writings shed light an new topics addressing social problems and national goals of his socity.
