The Syrian Tetradrachms in the roman period

Abstract
This article classes the Syrian tetradrachms minted in the roman period, and that are discovered by the archaeological missions worked in Syria.
The roman tetradrachm is a coin from of silver, its weight (14) g, the butt of it issue in Syria is in beginning for the military situation (the wars roman-Sassanid), in the next, the economy situation.
The monogram of tetradrachm signs the mint; it is in form a figurative symbol.
We studied a specimen of the coins discovered in the village of al-Atna, north-Est of Damascus, because the lasting is currently under the cleanup.
The collection of tetradrachmes are issued in Syrian in the divers workshops, we observe on the second face of tetradrachm an eagle between it clutches an animal representation (a symbol of mint).
The beginning of production of roman tetradrachm in Syria is by the emperor of August (27 BC-14 AD) to the middle of 3th century AD.
