This study aimed at revealing the nature of gender role ideology of a sample of students (male and female) and their parents (fathers and mothers) and at measuring the gender distance between the two generations of parents and their children (sons and daughters). The total sample was (839) chosen randomly.
Independent sample T-Test and one–way ANOVA were applied. The results showed that the males (Fathers and Sons) have (traditional) gender role ideology and the females (Mothers and daughters) have (liberal) gender role ideology، Also, the results revealed that there is a very limited gender distance (the differences of attitudes) between the two generations of parents and their children. Finally, the statistical analysis showed that there is no statistical significant relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable (The whole instrument) except the educational grade of the students.
