Abstract

This study seeks to examine the American Strategy towards Taiwan after the Cold War in the light of the increasing American relations with China as the trend of these relations during the last two decades shows that there has been an improvement in the China America relations despite the disagreement between the two countries over the future of Taiwan.

The study focused on the military, economic, and political components (determinants) of the American strategy toward Taiwan and reached the conclusion that there has been an overall increase in the bilateral relations since 1993 despite their differences on Taiwan. This shows how the United States favored its relations with China over its relations with Taiwan.
