Japanese Foreign Policy towards China in the Light of the International Shift of Balance Post Cold War

Abstract
This study examines the impact of the international shift of balance in the post Cold War on Japan's foreign policy towards China. The change in perception of the concept and mode of the international balance led to the emergence of a capital and global system, with multi political and economic axes. These changes had its impact on Japanese foreign policy towards China in term politics and economy levels.
The study concentrates on the changes in the Japan's foreign policy decision-making, the emergence of competition between the different parties on how to run foreign policy, and the impact of the new Japanese foreign policy on China.
The study concluded that there is a shift in Japanese foreign policy towards China in the light of the international shift of balance in the post Cold War; there is a positive view towards china as being an economic partner rather than potential military threat to Japan, at the time Japan is looking forward to re-gaining its global position as a permanent member in the UN Security Council.
