An Analysis of the Primary and Secondary Role of the Woman in Palestinian Novels

Abstract

This study aims at investigating and analyzing the character of the Palestinian woman in some Palestinian novels. Woman in Palestine play an important role in the struggling against occupation, so the Palestinian novels have a basic role in portraying this struggle.

The study makes a thorough examination about the role of the Palestinian woman in the Palestinian novel, both in its form and content. The study finds out that the woman plays the role of the hero in some novels, where as she appears as a follower in others. Some artistic characteristics are deeply observed in the character of the woman in Palestinian novels, how this character is created, the different images she appeared with, and to what extent the writer can charge her with energy, hints, and sense.
