Abstract

This research studies the ambiguity of (verbal noun), resting on assuming that the ambiguity is that an ambiguous and unsteady connotation causes an ambiguous and unsteady term.

It contains three chapters; the first chapter is about the features of the ambiguity, presenting a general idea of the problem by means of several questions.

The second talks about the ambiguity of the connotation; it consists of three cases:

 1. The connotation of verbal noun in the grammarians' view.

 2. Its connotation in Kufics' view.

 3. The sense and the indeclinable of the connotation.

And the third chapter is about the ambiguity of the term, referring to its sources. It consists of two cases:

1. The term in the grammarians' view.

2. The terms and parts of speech.
