The Impact of Economic and Social Characteristics on the Patterns of Crimes among the Inmates at the Women Repair and Rehabilitation Center in Juwaida - Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

Abstract
The objective of this research is to determine the impact of economic and social characteristics on the patterns of crimes among the inmates at the women repair and rehabilitation center in Juwaida - Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; the study sample consisted of (160) inmates at the women repair and rehabilitation center in Juwaida. the researcher had conducted meetings with the inmates, used (SPSS) to ask the inmates a range of questions to extract the results and to analyze them. The results of the study found that most crimes being committed are the moral crimes (adultery and prostitution). The results showed a statistically significant relation between the pattern of crime "murder" and the moral crimes (adultery and prostitution) and the variable of the educational level of the inmate for the benefit of "secondary", a statistically significant relation between the pattern of crime "murder", "theft and pickpocketing", and moral crimes (adultery and prostitution) and the variable of the age of the inmate for the benefit of the age group of "20-29 years", and a statistically significant relation between the pattern of crime "theft and pickpocketing" and the variable of the social status of the inmate for the benefit of "married" and the variable of the number of the family members of the inmate in favor of "1-5" and "6-11", and the variable of the cause of the disagreement in the family relationship of the inmate in favor of "financial problems". Furthermore, the study revealed a statistically significant relation between the pattern of crime "murder", "checks", "fraud and forgery" ,"begging and homelessness" and "moral crimes (adultery and prostitution)" and the variable of the profession of the inmate's mother in favor of "housewife", a statistically significant relation between the pattern of crime "theft and pickpocketing", "drugs", "begging and homelessness" and "moral crimes (adultery and prostitution)" and the variable of the type of relationship with the family of the inmate in favor of "disagreement", and a statistically significant relation between the pattern of crime, "drugs" and "moral crimes (adultery and prostitution) and the variable of the cause of disagreement in the family relationship of the inmate for the benefit of "rough treatment between the members of the family". With regard to the economic variables, the study showed a statistically significant relation between the pattern of crime "murder" and the variable of the inmate's profession in favor of "housewife", and the variable of monthly income of the inmate's family in favor of "200 dinars or over", and a statistically significant relation between the pattern of crime "murder","theft and pickpocketing" ,"drugs" ,"fraud and forgery" and "moral crimes (adultery and prostitution)" and the variable of the inmate's place of residence in favor of "city".
